Silk Exchanges
As per the Government Order No. (No:CI/37/SLW / 79 (ii), Bangalore dated: 20.12.1979) in Karnataka State to regulate the silk transaction Silk Exchanges are established and it is working since 1980. The silk reelers and traders are allowed to participate in the silk transaction at Silk Exchanges to sale and purchase of silk.
To transact the silk produced by the reelers 10 silk exchanges are established in the Sate. They are as follows

GOVERNMENT SILK FILATURES
Government Silk Filatures were established at Kollegal, Mambally, Santhemarahally and Chamarajanagar in Chamarajanagar District and Tholahunase in Davanagere District. Tholahunase Silk Filature is an independent small semi-automatic unit established under the World Bank Scheme. The details of the filatures established is as given below:
